Finals Week! Motivational Monday!

 It's finals week!  Let's finish strong!  What are your goals for the week?  I have a few holiday projects I'm working on, so I'd like to get those finished.  

This weekend was pretty chill.  Did some baking.  Last night we did the drive through holiday lights thing at Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch in Lowell.  It was cute and I carried on a tradition from when I was a kid. One night each Christmas season, we would get White Castles and go look at lights.  That's exactly what we did last night.  It was fun.

I was SUPER productive yesterday and it felt good.  

I haven't been getting my steps in lately.  Bum knee, janky back, lack of movement of any kind here at school...those are just a few of the reasons.  Got my steps yesterday!

I won $55 on a scratch off ticket last night!

I'm a fan of potato chip cookies..that's my fave holiday one.  A lady at my church makes them and they're SO good!!! My family are puritans, as they just want chocolate chip.

Motivational Monday!

 Hello!  Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?

Mine was fine.  Dropped off our toys for the Flamini Foundation on Saturday night and then drove around and looked at some lights in Flossmoor.  We didn't make it to Tinley.  I'm hoping one night this week. 

We spent yesterday at the ER ALL DAY. Ugh.  Mr. Cal drives a cart around all day at his work.  On Thursday, he had to stop quickly and he wound up flipping himself over his cart.  Knocked the wind out of him and he has this NASTY bruise on his side.  He's super stubborn and refused to go to the doctor.  Yesterday morning he felt something pop and then couldn't move. So, off to the urgent care we went.  They sent him immediately over to the ER, as they feared he may have had internal bleeding.  2 sets of X-rays and CAT scan later, he was cut loose.  What started at 9:30 yesterday morning, brought us home at 6:30 PM...then I had to go get his scripts filled.  Didn't get home until 8:30.  Didn't really do much of anything but wait yesterday, but I'm tired this morning!

OK...It's day one of my Holiday Challenge!  Today we are going to hear about favorite ornaments! Here's mine!  

Feel Good Friday!

 Happy Friday!  Guys...I'm going to say it.  I miss you all.   It's lonely here in my classroom every day.  I'm going to try to do something festive each day next week.  Maybe some raffles or something.  I don't know....

Anyhow, it's Feel Good Friday!  What are you feeling good about today?

I feel MUCH BETTER than I did yesterday.  

My in-laws go back to Arizona for the winter tomorrow.  Not that it makes me happy, but they are for sure part of our "pod" and they're older...so it makes me weary being around them, etc.  If they're back in Arizona and get the COVIDS, it's not because my family gave it to them.  We will see them in a few weeks when we go to Vegas for Christmas, so it's not a big deal.

I think? I have the majority of my Christmas shopping done.  There are a couple more things, but I think I have the bulk done.

We dropped off all the gifts for the families we adopted yesterday.  I was happy to get it all out of my house!

No real plans this weekend.  Taking my in-laws to the airport tomorrow, maybe going to check out that place with the cool lights in Tinley, maybe some baking?

Oh!  I got a hot chocolate bomb mold!  I think I'm going to try to experiment with those.

Pizza Friday!  I think it's Aurelio's tonight.

Giving Tuesday

I changed this at the last minute.....

Today is Giving Tuesday.  Does your family do anything charitable during the holiday season?  

We adopted a family of our own this season, in addition to donating to the other families we adopted with St. Joe's.  We also just made a donation to Homewood Baseball & Softball.  They just sent out a Giving Tuesday request. Lastly, I want to buy some toys today for the Flamini Foundation, that gives toys to kids in the hospital.  I have to order that stuff today so it will be there for the drop off on Saturday.

What about you?  If you don't do anything charitable, is there an organization you'd like to support?
