Feel Good Friday!

Happy Friday!  What are you feeling good about today?

I'm sort of bummed.  My son was supposed to be in a tournament this weekend and his coach announced yesterday that he tested positive for Covid. Soo...no tourney.  It's going to be perfect baseball weather this weekend, too!  So, now that my weekend has suddenly become free, I'm hoping to get some things done in the yard.  

• We bought everything for our deck last weekend.  Tomorrow we are picking it up.
• Pool goes in on Monday!
• Going out for a friend's birthday tonight.
• Hopefully having people over tomorrow night for a fire.
• We are down to 23.  TWENTY THREE days left!
• My kid got another scholarship from ISU!  Knocked off another grand!  Yay!
• I got my tax refund!
• Kentucky Derby is TOMORROW!  And...I will be home to watch it!  I LOVE the Derby!

Tuesday! Donuts?

Are you a donut person?  What's your fave? I have to be super selective these days.  If I'm going to have a donut, it's going to have to be worth it.  They don't sell my faves at Dunkin anymore.  I love anything with coconut, chocolate with custard, or jelly filled.  Those are my faves.  I can't remember the last time I had one, though.  Mariano's sells one with pink frosting and Fruity Pebbles.  That looks good.

We were in Vegas for Easter a couple of years ago and went to this donut place.  This donut had an ENTIRE Pop Tart inside of it!

Motivational Monday

 Happy Monday!  The sun is shining and it's going to be 75 today! How was your weekend?

Mine was relatively uneventful.  Dinner Friday night with some girlfriends, lacrosse game and two baseball games on Saturday - Win for all three!, and yesterday we just sort of ran errands, etc.  There is a place near the beach in Indiana that has free firewood, so we took a ride out there yesterday morning to get a load.  We can have a fire now!

Goals for the week - I have a lot of little stuff on the list.  I also think that I might be hosting a backyard Prom for my son and his friends, so I want to get some of those details worked out.  I also need to get a class I signed up for started.

 It's FRIDAY!!!!!

It's been a LONG week.  I'm ready for the weekend.  What are you feeling good about today?

We are down to 28 days left of school.  It's less for you all, but 28 for us teachers.  That's the number I'm following.

I'm excited about next year and the new classes I'm teaching.  It's fun to plan things and work on a budget for what I'll need.  Shopping with other people's money is kinda fun!

Walter goes to the groomer today.  He stinks.

My pool has an installation date!  MAY 3RD!  I. CAN'T. WAIT.

Gold Star/Demerits

Give yourself a gold star or a demerit today.  Gold star is a pat on the back and a demerit is just the opposite - own your disappointment.

Which one are you giving yourself?  I think I'm going to give myself half of each today.  I finally finished the yearbook.  Now that doesn't deserve a gold star by any stretch.  It should have been submitted MONTHS ago.  But....it's a HUGE relief now that it's done.  On the flipside, I'm giving myself a demerit because it should have been submitted MONTHS ago.

Monday, Monday

 Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Mine was pretty chill and I liked that.  There were so many of you I didn't get to see Saturday night.  I can't wait to see everyone's pics.  I popped up there when I got there for dinner, but our name was called right away for our reservation and then I went up after dinner, but there were so many on the dancefloor.  It looked like everyone was having a great time!

What are your goals for the week?  I sort of have a lot I'd like to accomplish this week, so I need to sort of make a timeline and list today so I don't miss anything.

This was a LONG week. I'm so happy we are at the end.

Not much going on this weekend. 

Opening game win for my son's baseball team last night. 

Tomorrow is opening game for my older son's lacrosse season.

Prom tomorrow!  Some of us teachers have dinner reservations downstairs.  Can't wait to see everyone!

Tasty Tuesday - What's your beverage of choice?

You're stopping at Casey's to grab something to drink.  What are you getting?

I'm usually drinking one of three things...Water, Raspberry Iced Tea (Crystal Light), or Diet Dr. Pepper.  Trying to drink more water than anything, but I think the iced tea wins.  I drink a lot of that.

Welcome Back!

 Welcome Back!  How was your break?  

Our trip was fun.  Spent time in the sun, fed the flamingos, etc.  Good trip.  

Rest of break was fine.  Just did stuff around my house, etc.  Birthday party on Saturday night for a friend.  Going away celebration for a friend moving out of the neighborhood yesterday.  

I'll be honest, I wasn't all that jazzed about coming back today.  But....there is a light at the end of this trainwreck of a school year tunnel!!  I can see it...can you??

Opening Day!

Good Morning from the Sunshine State!  It’s overcast here this morning, but it should clear up later.

It’s Opening Day for baseball!  We are Cub fans through and through.  I have family that lives on the North Side of Chicago and when my Uncle Sam retired, he became one of the guys who sold programs at Wrigley.  He was a fixture there and everyone loved him.  When he passed away, the Cubs organization had a whole tribute to him.  It was pretty cool.  I was just a kid when that happened, but I still remember it. 

So...Cub fans we are!

We’re also a baseball family.  While I love MLB, I also love to watch my kid play.  His first game is next week.  I spent 12 years on Homewood Baseball’s board of directors. I heart baseball.
