Monday! Spring Break is ALMOST Here!
Happy Monday!
The Cal kids landed safely in Phoenix, Arizona just after midnight! This was while they were waiting to board the plane. While I will for sure miss them until I see them on Thursday in Las Vegas, I'm also looking forward to the peace and quiet in my house the next few days!
Tonight we are headed to the Blackhawks game and maybe to Greektown for dinner. Date night!

What are you feeling good about today?
Today is the LAST Fish Fry I have to work! It's a huge fundraiser for the St. Joe's Athletic Association, so I suppose it's worth it....considering I'm VERY GOOD at spending their money :)
My kids are leaving Sunday night for Arizona! Yay!

Gold Star? Demerit?
It's Thursday! That means we get to issue gold stars and/or demerits today!
Gold Star.....The Easter Egg Hunt nonsense has departed my classroom! I'm super excited about that!
Demerit...I have SO MUCH TO DO, guys. I need a secretary, big time. I made a HUGE list of things to accomplish last night and I didn't hardly do any of them. I did manage to watch an episode of Gilmore Girls. So, there's that?
Yearbook pictures this afternoon during 6th/7th hour today. Smile pretty :)

Tuesday! Lots Going On! What's on your mind today.
Hello! Happy Tuesday!
Lots going on today - Election Day! My son's school is closed, so he's home for the day. I'm taking a half day so he doesn't have to spend the whole day alone. He's only 11.
I'm happy to get rid of political ads for a bit. They get super annoying.
So...Mr. Halligan. What are your thoughts about yesterday's presentation? This was the third time I've seen him. As a parent, it still hits me at my core. I couldn't imagine.
To quote the book "Wonder"...when given the choice between what is right and what is kind. Always choose kind.
Did yesterday make you think a bit? Do you think it's still a problem today?

Feel Good Friday!
Happy Friday, Y'All!
It's been a bit of a cush week for me, seeing as I was only at school twice. It's championship weekend in the Cal house. The HF hockey team is in the league championship. It's a three game series, so we have games tonight and tomorrow night. I'm hoping we win it in two, so we don't have to have a third game. Truth-be-told, while I love hockey, I'm ready for this season to be over. I'm ready to move on! Also in a championship game....my younger son. He plays for the consolation bracket championship tomorrow night as well. We have to hurry from Marist High School to Midwest Ice Rink in Dyer tomorrow night.
Oh, I'm also feeling good about the fact that we no longer have Christmas lights on our house (to be fair, we haven't turned them on since right after New Year's..just wasn't nice enough to get on the roof) AND I took my Valentine's decor down. I'm debating on whether or not to put any St. Pat's decor up....seems like a waste at this point.

Thursday - Gold Stars/Demerits?
What are you going to give yourself a gold star or demerit for this week?
I'm going to give myself a gold star this week for two things.
1) I'm pretty proud of myself for the way I handled the whole social media thing on Monday. I had to step up and be a leader, confronting one friend and try to do my best to do what's right by other friends. It's hard when you have to take a role in a situation that is uncomfortable. Trust me, I RUN away from conflict. I'm kind of proud at the way I handled it.
2) There is this lady who does not like me at all. I actually forget that she doesn't like me, so my first instinct is to smile and say hi to her (she's the wife of someone I work with in Homewood Baseball and with St. Joe's). When I greet her, she gives me such nasty looks and turns the other way. Part of me laughs a bit about this, because I've never done anything to her and I think it's just plain silly. So...I sort of made it my life's purpose to be ridiculously nice to her....sort of kill her with kindness. Guess what??? It worked! She was forced to have a conversation with me over the weekend and I think she doesn't hate me anymore! Yay! Now let's be clear about something....I don't have any interest in being buddy-buddy with her in any way, shape, or form. But....I'm giving myself a gold star in hopes that maybe next time she sees me and I say hi to her, she doesn't look at me like she's
shooting flames into my soul! Yay Me!

I'm out at a conference today with Mrs. Waterman. Here's the rundown for the day.....
Multimedia 1/2 - GET YOUR STUFF TURNED IN! There are a bunch of missing assignments in Google Classroom. Get them turned in! Also, our next project is a fun one. You will be "shrinking" yourselves and putting yourself with everyday items. Here are a couple of examples....

Tuesday - I'm OUT today....
Greetings....from my house!Your blog for today - How was your weekend? What did you do? Did you go to the dance? Have fun?
My weekend was fine. Nothing overly exciting. Just normal weekend stuff.
Here is the deal for today.
Multimedia 1/2 - This is for BOTH MM1 & MM2! Your assignment is in Google Classroom. This assignment is due at the end of class today. We are moving on tomorrow to a Photoshop project.
Yearbook - Work on your spreads today. I want to finalize the first round of spreads you were assigned by the end of the week. We are going to have Club/Organization pictures tomorrow afternoon. I think you all should have most of what you need to move forward.
Marketing - Your assignment is in Google Classroom. There is a packet to do (if the sub can find it....it may be hidden somewhere on my desk.
