Happy Mardi Gras!

As someone who loves to celebrate ANYTHING and who LOVES a theme, today is always a day that puts my ADD into overdrive.  It's Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), Paczki (Poonchkie) Day, it's Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day)....Holy Smokes...so much to celebrate!  

St. Joe's is hosting four playoff games tonight, so we aren't really celebrating tonight.  I bought Paczki's last night for breakfast this morning.

I'm doing two things this year.  Getting rid of a bag of something every day during Lent and I think I'm going  to give up pop. 

Monday, Monday! Weekend Update & Goals

How was your weekend?  Mine was pretty chill.  Didn't win at Bunco, Jack had Turnabout, and we had sort of a lazy day yesterday.  Fine by me!  

My goals for the week....

Freshman Pancake Breakfast date has been set for 3/29.  I need to do some work for that this week.

Fish Fry is Friday, so I have work to do for that as well.

I'd like to put a bunch of stuff out in the garbage this week, but we are either getting a foot of snow tomorrow or none at all.  We shall see.

It's FRIDAY!!!  I feel like this week went by relatively quickly.  I think Monday we should start a paper chain for the end of the school year.  Someone remind me!

• I've got my girlfriends coming over tonight for BUNCO
• Tomorrow night is Turnabout at HF
• It's cleaning lady day!

Gold Stars and Grievances, Oh, and are you smarter than a 5th grader?

We have a trifecta today.  I'm combining three Thursday things in one post.

Give yourself a gold star or a demerit.  I'm going to give myself a gold star.  I signed up for a one week trial of HBO so I could have my Marketing class watch something and I cancelled it before I was charged the monthly fee!  I don't think that's ever happened to me before!  I always wind up paying for at least one month.  Yay for me!

Grievance - Chili's last week not only jacked my order up, but they charged me double for the entire carryout meal!  An extra $50!  To their credit, I went there last night to let them know about the double charging and how disappointed I was that they screwed up my order and they refunded the extra charge AND gave me $30 in gift cards for my next visit.  As they should.

Long Weekend...How was it?

Short week this week!  Yay!  How was your holiday weekend? What did you do?

Friday we made heart shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day.

Saturday was Trivia Night for St. Joe's.  Packed house and we made over a grand for St. Joe's Athletics.  

Sunday was Turnabout shopping and getting out of the house while the rest of my people were dying from the flu or Coronavirus, or whatever sickness is going around.  

Yesterday I delivered all the voter registrations to Joliet, took a bunch of 7th grade boys bowling, and then had a dr. appt.  AND THEN IT HIT ME.....I was down for the count last night.  Chills, the whole 9 yards.  Woke up this morning and I feel fine.  I'm hoping since I take Vitamin C every day, plus I got the flu shot, that this is all that I had.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Weekend was fine...
Worked the basketball game here on Friday night
Saturday was my son's birthday.  
Hockey playoffs Saturday night - lost in double OT with a shootout.  Bummer.
Dinner at Maple Tree Inn Saturday after game. So good!
Yesterday = LAZY.  Binged Peaky Blinders on Netflix.  It's basically Irish mafia after the first World War. Good stuff.

Also, my son's friend's had a little surprise party for him on Friday night.  I stopped up there after leaving here Friday night.

Weekend Getaway...

  OR  

Where would you be headed if someone said "let's go somewhere this weekend"?  You can fly or drive.  

I'm torn.  My first instinct is New Orleans.  It's my fave.  AND....there are some parades starting this weekend for Mardi Gras.  

However, with the lack of sunshine we've had, combined with the lack of color on my skin....I'm headed to the beach.  My go-to is St. Pete Beach, FL, but I checked the weather and while it's warmer than here, it's not good tanning weather.  I'll head a bit further south and hit up Key West.

Super Bowl Monday

How was your weekend?  Did you watch the game last night?  Thoughts?  Sort of a blah game, half time was good.  Sort of bummed I didn't win any money.  I had 11 squares! BOOOOO!!!!!

Commercials??  I liked the one with the guy from Game of Thrones. That was pretty funny.

Weekend was uneventful beyond that.  Went to the game here on Friday, back here Saturday to work the gate at the tourney, went to dinner Saturday night at the Princess, went to our besties for the game last night.  

Not a whole lot of goals set for the week.  Lots going on, but nothing I'm directly in charge of.  Just a lot of me having to be places to watch things.  My youngest is on the James Hart boys volleyball team and he has a game every single school day in February except for two or three.  Today is one of them.

NHS applications are due tomorrow, so I need to sort through those.
