Tuesday - Day 11

Blog & CNN today.

Have you played any games with your family?  If so, what have you played?

We’ve played Life, Uno, and our favorite restaurant game, Rummy.  

Nick (my 13 year old) is in charge of all meals and activities today.  Dinner tonight is Chalupas for Taco Tuesday and molten lava cakes for dessert.  He also wants to make these iron-on t-shirts with a printed piece of paper, plastic wrap, and an iron.  I don’t have a color printer, or four available t-shirts to iron on to, so he may have to alter his plan for the evening.  Maybe I can talk him into a game?? 

Anyhow, that’s all I’ve got for today.  It looks like a dreary, grey day, but....I looked at the weather and I think today is the coldest for the next couple of weeks!  And it looks like the sun will be out!

Monday - Day 10

Hey....
Well...if there is even a chance of us going back this year, it won't be until at least May 1st.  This makes me sad.  I hope all of you are staying healthy and are practicing your social distancing.  I had a zoom call with all my girlfriends on Saturday night.  That's about the most interaction I've had with anyone.  

I'm not going to do a goals/how was your weekend blog post today....because....why????

I shamelessly made Mr. Cal watch Tiger King with me yesterday.  I don't even know what to say.  They are ALL crazy and guilty of something! 
Mr. Cal went back to work today after being home all last week on vacation.  I have a few episodes of Below Deck to catch up on this week while I have the TV to myself again.
Ozark released season three over the weekend.  I suspect we will watch some of that tonight.  I kept that little nugget secret until we were done watching Tiger King, so he wouldn't complain..haha!

Tomorrow I will have some projects ready for everyone, but today I just want you to do your blog and watch CNN10.  I'll be grading and updating PowerSchool today.  Remember, everything counts for real grades now.  Don't get stuck behind!

Feel Good Friday! - Day 9

I feel like during these times, this question isn't all that valid, but I don't want to be negative.

What are you feeling good about today?

• After a week of all this nonsense, my roof should be finished today and the dumpster is scheduled to be picked up.
• Pizza Friday!  Trying something new...Making homemade stuffed crust without the actual pizza, and then I'm going to make a meatball pizza.

Tasty Tuesday - Day 6

Good Morning!  Happy Day 6 of quarantine! 
Today's Blog....Do you like to cook? Have you tried to make anything different so far during your social distancing?

I've tried a few things so far.  My family will probably say the "killer garlic knots" have been their fave so far.
As of 8:05 this morning, only 53 of you have taken the CNN quiz from last week.  By the end of this week, we should have some official word on grading, so I'd HIGHLY suggest making sure you're doing your work so you can get credit!

Motivational Monday - Day 5

I goofed on Friday's quiz.  I need you to go back in and put your name on it and make sure your blog address is correct.  I showed you how in the video.  This, today's blog, CNN Student News (I forgot to mention CNN in the video), and send Mrs. Rojas a pajama day pic are your "To Do's" for today.  Make sure you fix the quiz and blog address by 7PM tonight.  I'd like to get these in the gradebook.

Snow!  I'll admit that it's pretty, but not practical for me at the moment.  I've got a dumpster in the driveway and am supposed to get a new roof!

What are you motivated for this week?  What are you going to try to do?  I'm going to try to get some things packed and decluttered in my house so we can put it up for sale.

Also, the weather is supposed to get nice after today?  Well...sort of nice...for March?  

Day Four - Feel Good Friday!?

Good Morning!  Happy Friday!  Even though we aren't anything normal now, I want to try to remain as normal as we can be through all of this.  So, we will continue with Feel Good Fridays.  

So, what are you feeling good about today?  

• We are moving one step closer to putting our house on the market.  Mr. Cal and a friend are putting a new roof on our house this weekend.  
• It was so nice last night.  Mr. Cal and I went for a walk in the neighborhood got to chat (with appropriate social distancing in place) with some friends.
• Pizza Friday! Homemade pizza tonight.

Day Three - Thursday - AYSTAFG?

Good Morning!  I slept in a bit this morning, as I slept like garbage last night.  Last night the Cal's played The Game of Life, because according to my HF junior, we don't have one at the moment.  I have to venture out in a bit to run a couple of quick errands.

Day two in the Cal house.  HF officially starts their e-learning today.  Jack has to be online by 10AM or else he's marked absent.  Nick's e-learning is supposed to be uploaded by 2PM today.  He and I are going to take a quick ride up to BHS today to grab some things.  Kind of funny that he is VERY excited at the thought of leaving the house today to go with me to school.

Watched a great movie last night if you're looking for something to watch.  Troop Zero on Prime Video.  Great movie!  Guys, not sure you'll love it.  It's more of a girl thing.

Today on the big agenda is the dreaded sock basket.  We have a big basket of socks that NOBODY will claim, but we aren't allowed to ever get rid of it.  So...today....that basket will be emptied/sorted/put away/thrown away...I don't care, but I'm not going to look at it another day.

Day One - St. Patrick's Day & Election Day!

Here we are - Day one...How's it going so far?  Last night we got carry-out from Lassen's and watched Percy Jackson - The Lightning Thief. 

I'm getting ready to leave in a few min to go VOTE and to buy a new recliner for my living room.  There is ONE good place to sit in my house and I refuse to fight with Mr. Cal every night about who gets the "good chair", so I'm just going to go out and buy my own.  There is going to be A LOT of together time in the coming weeks, so I'm doing all I can to make it so we come out of this better than when we went in.  

To my seniors that I registered to vote...GO VOTE!!  Send me a message if you voted!  I'm proud of you if you did!

The Last Day....

Good Morning!  Well, here we are.  I'm not going to see you for a while and I'm not going to fib, this makes me sad.  

So, do you have any goals for while you're off?  Obviously we have school stuff to do.   I will update my blog every day with plans.  We may do check in meetings in Google Hangouts once a week. Stay tuned.

Welp, everything is canceled.  Not sure how I feel about that. I mean, it's nice not to have to have to be in Romeoville at 7:30 tomorrow morning, but I don't like being a slug.  

Two St. Patrick's Day parties tomorrow...always a good time!  

That's about it.  Nothing more to report.

Rainy Monday

Yuck...I really wanted to stay in bed for a couple extra hours this morning.  It was dark when I left for school this morning.  Dislike.

How was your weekend?  It was SO nice out!!!  

Friday was Fish Fry - It was crazy busy!
Saturday we didn't do much.  I took my oldest for his drivers license, packed some boxes in our house.  Saturday night my younger son and I went out for dinner to Scrementi's.
Sunday I did the usual Sunday stuff....Aldi, Sam's, Target, etc.  

Goals for the week....

I'm tired!  My oldest is off today for Pulaski Day and I'm a tad jealous.    

Oh well, there's work to be done here! 

How was your weekend?  Mine was relatively uneventful.  Fish Fry on Friday, Saturday was pretty chill, and yesterday we had basketball playoffs at Marist.  Lost, which is fine.  While I always want them to win, I'm equally as excited to take that off my calendar.  

Tonight we don't have ANYTHING!  Yay!
